Facebook Upgrades Mobile Dashboard with Privacy Controls

There is absolutely no doubt in the fact that Facebook is now an insanely popular social network and many people use Facebook
mobile to log in to their accounts. Stats for Facebook’s mobile login state that the network gets over 200 million users between its various mobile web sites and applications for various smartphone. So considering the fact that mobile usage of Facebook is so high, it looks like the company is porting over its extensive privacy controls to the mobile platform. A mobile version of these controls was initially launched back in August, and they are going to be updated soon.
The company announced these new controls and helps manage the apps a user has connected to their Facebook account, including all the apps users use Facebook Connect for as well as those which have properly been installed on Facebook.
Specifically for the purpose of managing this data flow, the company launched a dashboard for connected apps in October, using which the users could see which apps were using their data and how often they’ve accessed that very data, including what particularly the apps were looking at. However, now in the coming weeks, Facebook is going to be adding these very controls to its mobile site, hence bringing all of these functions to its mobile platform.
Rose Yao, mobile product manager at Facebook elaborates in a blogpost:
In addition to your current privacy controls on mobile, now you can see a detailed view of the information you've shared with various applications and websites and adjust your settings on the go. A full list of all the applications you use, along with when they last accessed your information, is now available in the Applications and Websites section of your privacy settings. - To see your privacy controls on mobile, go to m.facebook.com/privacy or visit the Settings page and click the "Change" link next to "Privacy Settings.
It seems to be a good move be Facebook as the world steadily moves towards the mobile devices which are definitely gaining popularity, especially for using social networks. Do you take this as a good thing? Let us know in your comments below.
