a huge user base within an amazingly short span of time. Quite recently, Twitter overhauled its entire service and from then onwards it was called the NewTwitter. Some highlighted features of this overhaul were that NewTwitter allowed users to access a large variety of multimedia content from within the service itself. Now, the company has broadened that spectrum.
As of now, Twitter users will be able to access multimedia content from blip.tv, Instagram, Rdio, Slideshare and Dipdive without having to leave the social network. The company has announced this in a blogpost, and it says:
We’re on a mission to give you more great multimedia content on Twitter, and today we’re adding five new companies to bring you independent TV shows, photos, works of art, slide presentations and entire songs, all right inside the details Dipdive: See photos, videos and new works from Dipdive’s community of artists.
These new companies are:
- Watch more than 50,000 independently-produced Web TV shows.
- Instagram: View mobile photos, personalized with Instagram’s colorful filters.
- Rdio: When a subscriber Tweets out a song, you can listen to full-length songs right inside the details pane, for the first time ever.
- SlideShare: Read and share entire presentations, directly on Twitter.
Twitter claims that in the coming months, it will include more content partners, however even now; a 140 character tweet can contain a variety of content that will now be accessible directly from within the network. No doubt, Twitter is a phenomenal social network and it indeed provides unique services to its users.
