Marie Claire Launches App For The iPad; Offers Six Previous Issues

It seems like more and more companies are preferring Apple’s iPad for reaching out to a larger audience. Quite recently, we’ve seen
many things coming to the iPad, such as News Corp. iPad-only newspaper, The Daily, Virgin Group’s Magazine titled Projectand now we have Marie Claire which has finally launched its own iPad app.
The Marie Claire app was launched on Thursday and it brings its last six issues to iPad owners all across the world. However, issues of July till November are just PDF scans of the print version of their magazine, and same is the case with the December issue, which is then again a PDF edition of this magazine.
However, not all is so gray about the Marie Claire iPad app as there are some additional features that make this magazine worth having. It features a video cover of British actor Emma Watson along with embedded behind-the-scenes video, it also features an interactive quiz, a short film, allows 360-degree rotations of particular items and will allow users to stream music clips.
The Marie Claire however isn’t that spectacular when it comes to design and layout, areas where Wired or Esquire have achieved greater heights, but apart from this, the magazine is still worth having on your iPad. The service is also a subscription based service and it will cost users $10 per year, on the other hand, the December issue is available for $3.50 directly through the Marie Claire app.
