Toshiba is back and better than ever! We’ve loved this company for all sorts of gadgets that it has offered us over
the years, and it is no doubt a very established company in the gadget market since a very long time. When it comes to netbooks however, we still have to see an eye-opener coming from Toshiba’s end. Well it looks like our cries have finally been answered. Presenting, The Toshiba mini NB 520.
This nifty little netbook is definitely that eye-opener that we have hoped for. Apart from the fact that it has impressive hardware to boast about, because the Toshiba mini NB 520 features an Atom N550 processor, 2GB of DDR3 RAM, a 250GB Hard Disk, battery life stands at 10 solid hours and it also sports an excellent 10.1-inch 1024 x 600 LED-backlit display, again all pretty impressive for a netbook.
However, here’s the real treat. The Toshiba mini NB 520 is definitely for people who love their music loud. This netbook packs a powerful punch as this device sports Harmon Kardon speakers that can churn out audio at a staggering two watts each, and are without a doubt the smallest tweets that Harmon Kardon has ever put on a netbook.
Marco Perino, General Manager, Product Marketing EMEA Toshiba Computer Systems Division defines the device as:
Offering a magic sound experience by featuring the world's smallest Harman/Kardon speakers on a laptop embedded in a slim and stylish casing, the mini NB520 meets a yet unfulfilled user demand in the netbook market
The Toshiba mini NB 520 also has an amazing function, called the Sleep and Music feature, which will allow users to listen to the music that they have on their portable music players, through the netbook’s speakers by connecting the device to it. And for those who do not like their music loud, they can get the Toshiba mini NB 500, which is without the Harman Kardon speakers and with an Atom N455 processor, and obviously cheaper than the NB 520. Prices are yet to be announced, but the device is said to be available for shipping in the first quarter of 2011.
