The new year is around the corner and people are already gearing up for the new decade, and obviously, with a new
year, comes new years resolutions, and if yours is to tone your body and get into shape, you’re lucky because now there’s going to be an app for that as well. Nike, the global leader, is coming up with a new fitness app for the iPhone and iPod touch, and it can safely be said that it will be insanely popular.
This app, called the Nike Training Club will thankfully be available for free from January 1, 2011. This app is particularly geared towards women and is destined to be a full-body training application. This app features extensive and comprehensive workouts and drills in all areas, such as strength, cardio and core-training. The first version of NikeWomen Training Club was launched back in 2009 as an addition to its NikeWomen.com website.
So how exactly will the Nike Training Club help in daily workouts? Initially though, the app does not carry over from the old version and it sports a whole new set of new features. The primary focus of the app seems to be on guided, customized workouts with a better hands-free audio experience. The user interface has been overhauled as well, which gives it a very nice and professional look.
Features include:
- The ability to work out to music from your own library
- 15-, 30- and 45-minute workouts in beginner, intermediate and advanced levels
- Milestone rewards that can unlock different badges and earn “inspiration” from Nike athletes and trainers
- Detailed videos showing how to do certain drills
Nike is not keeping this app specific to any particular region, as the January 1 launch brings this app in English, Mandarin, Taiwanese and Japanese languages altogether. Men need not to worry as Nike also has app that are geared specifically towards men, particularly Nike BOOM for the iPod touch and the iPhone, and it is also available in the Android Market.
