Google Finally Launches Its Highly Anticipated E-Bookstore; Google E-Books

Last week, we told you that Google was launching its much anticipated e-bookstore somewhere around the end of 2010. Well this week,
we have even better news. Internet search giant Google has finally launched its e-bookstore, and its being called Google E-Books. Initially, nearly 4,000 publishers are going to offer their content thorough this massive platform
Currently only being launched in the United States, and accessible by any device featuring a web browser, Google E-Books will be bringing more than 3 million to users in the U.S. while many of them are going to be absolutely free. This venture from Google was earlier known as Google Editions, which has proven itself to be quite different from its current competitors in the market.
Google E-books gives users the freedom of not having to buy all their books from one single online store to be read specifically on software that is compatible with them, Google E-Books is allowing consumers to buy books either from its own store or any other online book store that sells these books in either EPUB and PDF formats, and will allow them to read the books on any device that has a web browser.
This move by Google will allow independent booksellers to advertise and sell Google e-books on their own and take a yet to be announced cut from the revenue that is generated from the sale of these books. This platform also gives users the choice of purchasing their books from whomsoever they may want to, and Google E-Books has also been launched with an affiliates program already in place.
The portability offered by Google E-books will not only be limited to devices that have a web browser. In addition to the Google Web Read application, consumers will also be able to read their Google e-books through apps for the iPhone, iPad and Android devices. Impressively enough, reading content will automatically sync between devices, meaning that whatever device the user is on, they will not have to look for the point where they previously left off.
