When it comes to rich web content, Adobe is a familiar name, as people have always been anxious to download Adobe Flash
Player when they want to view rich web content. Apple and Adobe have recently have had a tough relationship as Apple had decided to ship its new Macbook Air without Adobe Flash Player, even though all previous Apple hardware had it, read the full story here. Nevertheless, Adobe has just released the latest beta of their Flash Player for the Mac OS, which promises a lot of improvements as compared to the Flash Player 10.1.
So what does this particular Adobe Flash download has to offer? Well Flash Player 10.2 is said to bring improved video performance to the Mac OS. Specifically, it brings Stage Video, which is described by Adobe has a new API that allows high performance video playback without hogging up the machine’s resources. As Adobe tells, Stage Video can make use of the computer’s graphic processor to make the video streaming process seamless, all while making sure that the CPU usage remains at a minimum. However, there is a drawback to Stage Video as it is not backwards compatible, meaning that websites will have to update to use the latest API’s for their video players before their users can actually feel a noticeable difference using Stage Video.
Some other improvents in Adobe Flash Player 10.2 include full-screen video support across multiple monitors, meaning that while viewing a full-screen video on one monitor, the user can simultaneously do some other work on the second monitor. Text rendering enhancements are also featured.
How exactly the Adobe Flash Player 10.2 Beta will perform on the Mac OS, will be seen when one actually uses it, and if you want to try out the beta, it can be easily downloaded from here.
