Facebook is no doubt the most widely used social network on the planet right now, and users want to use Facebook in
any way possible, be it through mobile site, applications or what not. It’s strange though that the company has not launched an exclusive app for the iPad, as it does have apps for the iPhone and other devices. However, Pulse, which happens to be a popular visual RSS reader, is adding Facebook support in their new update, and that too, for free!
The app which is called Pulse News Reader app for iPad will offer its users three different types of Facebook streams, this update just might be a good move for Alphonso Labs, the startup behind Pulse, as it would gain much popularity for giving Facebook a whole new meaning on the iPad, however it is to be noted that Pulse in no way is a fill-fledged Facebook client for the iPad. The app provides three sections for Facebook which include News links, Status update and the user’s wall. The notion behind separation is to allow Pulse users to visually browse Facebook, and also obtain filtered information in an entirely new and unique fashion.
Facebook has nicely been implemented in to this application, for example the links section filters out what news items the users friends are sharing, on the other hand the status update section makes it very easy for the user to reader the statuses of their friends, and most importantly, by making the users wall appear as a stream, it boasts immense practicality as the user can quickly swish through likes and comments on their posts, and can interact on those posts as well, via comments. Also added are enhanced sharing options with video support. Oh, and it supports multitasking as well.
Currently, only Pulse for iPad has got this Facebook-filled update, however the mobile applications for the iPhone and Android are said to be updated soon with this as well. Are you psyched about using Pulse for iPad now that it supports Facebook? Let us know in your comments below.
