Silvio Rizzi is no doubt a prominent name when it comes to reading apps, as the developer has created some phenomenal apps
for this purpose. For people who use Apple’s iOS devices, the iPhone and the iPad, Reeder is most definitely the favorite app. Nevertheless, the developer has released version 2.2 for the iPhone, which brings Facebook integration and a one-swipe gesture to send an article to Instapaper or ReadItLater, but to the joy of many, He has released Draft 1 of Reeder for Mac.
So what exactly does Reeder for Mac Draft 1 bring to Apple’s non-touch OS? Well for starters, it presents a very clean and clear outlook, which somehow brings to mind the look that the iPad and iPhone versions have, but also features an interface that does not clash with the limitations of the OS X. Some important features such as feed management and feed search are missing, but then again this is just Draft 1, and Silvio says that these features are coming soon.
Using Reeder for Mac is surprisingly easy as well; as it sports few simple drop-down menus for people who like to use the cursor much, but it also compliments those who do not like to use the cursor that much as it has a variety of keyboard shortcuts, which allow users to refresh, browse, read, switch folders and mark everything as read without having to move the cursor an inch. It is no doubt, highly enticing.
The developer has indeed shown interest in selling Reeder for Mac through the Mac App Store, but nothing is confirmed yet. However, Reeder is sure to impress many, even while being Draft 1. This free public beta can easily be downloaded from here, however it is not known specifically which versions of OS X it supports.
