Winamp For Android Released; Supports Wireless Sync

Winamp is most definitely the only reason we know mp3 players today, as it used to be a dominant mp3 player many
years back until it sort of lost its charm, but not to worry, as our favorite software is back and is better than ever, and hopes to capitalize on the fact that the Android platform lacks a truly fantastic media player. Oh did we mention its Winamp for Android we’re talking about?
The public release of Winamp for Anroid comes a month after its initial launch, which was downloaded an amazingly 500,000 times, so this release brings it out of beta. Looking at these numbers, it can safely be assumed that yes, Android users are yearning for a music player that would literally impress them, and with what Winamp for Android has to offer, it looks like it wouldn’t fail to impress. Apart from allows users to manage their music download on their Android devices, Winamp for Android offers other features such as wireless syncing over WiFi, although it calls for having the new desktop version of Winamp installed on the computer, and it also brings Shoutcast radio stations with it.
One may wonder why Winamp has been concentrated towards the Android platform, as the much established Apple’s iOS platform dominantly exists, however, executives of AOL, the company that owns Winamp, feel differently. Senior vice president of AOL Entertainment, Kerry Trainor says:
Now with the Android OS beating out iOS, it is a foregone conclusion that it will beat out iOS over time
So Winamp for Android is finally here, and it looks like it has come to stay, although other music players for Android do exist, such as Songbird and doubleTwist, it looks like the innovative features that Winamp has to offer, will definitely make it most loved by all Android users.
