Evernote has just come up with an update to its desktop application, its called Evernote 2.0 Beta for Mac OS X. This
anticipated update from the company brings a host of new features to this application, that users are sure to be thankful for. Read on below on find out what Evernote 2.0 beta has to offer the Mac OS user.
First off, included in this update are the most sought after features, which include in-app notebook sharing and Notebook Stacks, which happens to be a new notebook organizational feature. Notebooks can be shared with any named individual as well as the entire world. The public notebooks have a url which can be shared with anyone across any platform, and also a RSS feed. So users of the desktop application can easily share notebooks without having to visit the website. Sharing permissions can also be adjusted through the desktop application. Those who are Evernote Premium users can allow other people to edit their notebooks as well as see the history of edits.
The next amazing feature, which happens to be new, is called Stacking, there are users compartmentalize every thing that they note down but that can make the sidebar a little too messy, Stacks will function as folders for notebooks, users can easily drag one notebook on top of another to create a new stack, and can create as many stacks as they want to.
However, this being a beta release, Evernote has not provided a direct download link, but in order to install it, Mac users will have to install the latest OS desktop release and then head on to preferences from where they can select “update to beta versions when available” from the software update tab.
